Everyone who starts a blog usually has something that pushes them over the edge, into the world of cathartic writing. For me, my need for this creative outlet is my family and our health history. After a few years of dealing with my husband's heart disease, we came across Plant-Based cooking. (Thank you Mrs. Garcia!!) I have always been interested in flavorful, healthy food, but my family is a little more "meat and potatoes". I thought the notion of this Plant-Based world would be a little much for them. To my surprise my husband jumped right on board and our world flipped upside down!
I thought we were fairly healthy eaters. However, when I looked in our new Plant-Based cookbook, I wasn't even aware our grocery store sold many of these items. I am a kitchen adventurer at heart, so I made an effort to try these new things as though my husband's life depended on it! (No pressure!) I had the benefit of being home with my children that summer, so I spent hours chopping and learning. It was then someone said I should start a blog to chronicle our experiences and cut down on the learning curve for others. It's been a couple years and we have not looked back. (well, maybe once in a while when it comes to cheese... we do so love cheese...)
